Discovering Nepal / 2005-2009
This portfolio is very close to my heart. It was my first large scale self assignment. Upon embarking it, I knew it would turn into a very long and ongoing work in progress. I have been to Nepal three times since 2005, and every time I return everything seems new to my eyes. This portfolio covers a wide time frame of four years and a distance from East to West of the entire country. I am truly happy and grateful with my work so far, and even more excited for what is to come.
Darjeeling, India
I embarked on an exciting trip by traveling from Nepal to Darjeeling by motorcycle. It is something that I will never forget for the rest of my life. Darjeeling is a very magical place. The mist sweeps into the narrow streets and hundreds of prayer flags dance in the himalayan wind. I spent most of my time around the Tibetan Refugee Centre in Darjeeling. The elders and the children made me feel very welcome with my camera photographing them and their community. I can not wait to go back and finish what I have started.
